Project #7

This was actually the first thing I did when we moved in. It is our bedroom. I painted the top half chocolate brown and the other half the same color as the trim. I didn't want to take any pictures of the room until we got all the furniture in. Here are some before and afters for you.

Here are the rooms before. We pretty much just had the bed and a TV.
And here is the room after the paint and all. How much do you love the brown and blue bed stuff???? I love it!!!!! Plus with finally bringing the furniture we brought some lamps so now I have light in the room. For some odd reason they don't have lights in some of the rooms. The only light would be lamps. I hate that.

Plus also this morning we finally got snow. I'm a little disappointed that you guys south of us got snow before we did. But then again....hah, hah.

Birthday Party

We all went back to our old house this past weekend to load up more stuff and to celebrate my niece's third birthday.

Saturday we all got up and went over to my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws house to help them with there basement. Well actually Jamie helped and the boys found toys to play with. They are in the process of finishing there basement off, so Jamie was trying to help hang doors. I think they were only able to get two done before we had to go to the party. But in between there I met one of my good friends and her family at the town park and took some family pictures. She told me I could share some with you.

My oldest son was my assistant for the day. He would stand behind me and make rabbit ears to my head. Or do the whole where are you, peek thing to get the kids to laugh. He did such a good job. I think this is my second or third year taking fall pictures. It's fun to go back and look at the old ones. I told Jason that the folder I have of the family is so big that I can't burn it to a disk all at once. I'm going to have to break it up. I love it.

Then we headed over to my brother and sister-in-laws for the birthday party. It was nice to see everyone again. And the kids where excited to play with each other again. I'm amazed at how well they get along and play with each other now. For awhile there the joke in the family was seeing who would get hurt first.

We had a wonderful meal of tacos, rice, texas eggrolls (that I burnt myself trying to fry), and different dips. Sooooo yummy.

Then we opened presents. I of course being the naughty aunt that I am snuck a couple gifts in that I probably shouldn't have. But she loved them and it's all that matters. Take a look.

Candyland game.

Barbie. What little girl doesn't love a Barbie????

Ok, here is the first of the naughty gifts. If you know me then you know I love me my Pop Rocks. So I of course had to give them as a present. Shelly you will have to take a picture of her as she is eating them. I want to see her reaction. : )

And last but not least. Chocolate Covered Donuts!!!!! See how much she loves them. She's hugging them. Oh man this girl is so related to me it's not even funny. She also loves chips. I was going to add those to the bag, but I didn't want to go to far. : )

And the big gift of the night.

A new bike!!!!

After the gifts we had cake and then went outside and the kids had a pinata. It was one of the new kinds where you just pull the string. Instead of hitting it and each other in the process.

Once all this was done the kids started to get out the gifts and play some more. Jamie decided to get in on the fun.

Projects #4, 5, & 6

I have been crazy busy working on blankets for Christmas. I have been taking some of my father-in-laws shirts and cutting them into squares. Then Jamie makes a pattern for me and I sew them together to make a blanket.

Project #4 was Corrina's blanket, which is all done. But I will not be showing it here for two reasons. Reason number one, I know she reads this blog and I don't want her to see it until Christmas. Reason number two, I forgot to take a picture of it. Sorry Corrina, but you will have to wait. I think you will love it when you see it.

Project #5 is Josh's blanket shown below. I'm putting his on here cause I don't think he looks at my blog. So I think I'm safe until Christmas with his. Here is a peak for you.

This is the main square in the middle.
More of the edges.
This is the full blanket.
This is Cory's blanket. I have all the squares stacked on top of each other right now. Just waiting to sew it. I'm in the middle of another project, so sorry, but it will have to wait a little bit longer.

Project #6 are these burb rags I made for one of Jamie's cousin. He just had a little boy. Isn't this material adorable. I just love it. I got the pattern from my sister-in-law.

Apple Festival

We went to the Apple Festival in Bayfield on Saturday. It wasn't what I was expecting. For some reason I was thinking we would be going to an apple orchard or a pumpkin field with stuff to do there. It ended up being a town celebration. But we walked around anyways.

Apostle Islands in Lake Superior

Boys Messing Around the Shore Line

We did find a little carnival area for the boys to go on some rides. They were happy with that. I don't think they were to impressed with the rest of the place.

I was told about another pumpkin patch the other day that is near us. This one sounds more like what I want. So now I have to see if I can talk Jamie into going for another drive this weekend.

This Morning

So after I send my boys off to school I normally come back to the house, check my email and get breakfast for myself. As I was heating some water up for coffee I looked out the window to the lake. And it was so beautiful this morning that I had to run down to the dock and snap off some pictures. I hope you like them.

This was right next to the dock. It looked like the steam was coming from the shore, going out to the middle of the lake and then rising up. It was so bizarre to me. I have never seen that before.

Sun coming up around the point.

Can't even tell you how much I love this picture.

Sounds like we might be going to an apple festival this weekend. I'm hoping to get some good pictures of the boys. Then you can see how big they are getting. I measured Jakob the other day and he is only a foot shorter then me now. That's just not right since he is only 7 and in the 1st grade. By the time the boy is in 6th grade he will be taller then me.
