Family Vacation - Colorado

Monday after the wedding about 25 family members headed into town and we went white water rafting. It was so much fun. Of course the water level was really low for that time of the summer and we got hung up on some rocks. But it was awesome. Seth on the other had is very upset with us. He was not old enough or heavy enough to go, so he went back to the cabins with Grandma Cheryl. She said she would figure out something to make him happy. And he told her that he was upset and nothing she did would make him happy. But of course Jamie promised him that we would come back to CO in a couple years when he was able to go. I think this helped a little.

Then we headed into town the next day and did a little looking around. Not sure if this was taken by Seth or Jakob.

Out of all the wonderful scenery we could look at the boys decided to stare at a chipmunk. He is in between them and down a little bit.

Fish and School

We interrupt the family vacation pictures to show you the new champion of fish in our house. Here is Josh with his 27 1/2 Walleye.

It weighed a little over 7 pounds. And no he did not keep it. We took the pictures and then they returned it to the lake. I asked if he was going to mount it, but Josh said he was waiting for the 30 in Walleye before he does that.

And Tuesday was the first day of school for the boys here. We are back to getting up at 6:00 and waiting for the bus by 6:50. Jake is doing good and is fine with going back. Seth told me today that he wished there was no law saying he had to go to school. He wants to just stay home. I'm hoping he never hears about home schooling or I'm going to be in for another fight. I'm thinking he just doesn't like that he was a new group of kids in his class and not the same people as last year. Let's hope he gets over this real quick or it's going to be a long year.

Wedding

I talked to Corrina and I'm allowed to put pictures I took of the wedding on my blog now. : ) I sent her a disk of the pictures I took for her and Joe to look at.

The day of the rehearsal Jamie had to run down to the cabin that Cheryl and Corrina were staying at. And he smuggles Corrina's dress out for me. I have seen pictures of wedding dresses hung in the door way to the church before and I loved them. So I thought I would try it with Corrina's dress on this arch we found down by the river. What do you think???

Here is the yummy pig that they roasted all night. They had to have a guy by the thing all night to make sure the propane stayed lit and the bears didn't eat it. And yes he had a shot gun in case the bear came down.

After rehearsal Kathy, Myranda, Mandy, and I went back to Corrina and Cheryl's cabin and got the flowers together. Corrina bought a bunch of flowers from Costco on her way up to the cabin. So we tore them apart and put them back together they way we wanted them. Once they were together I wrapped them in ribbon.

Now sorry but I don't have any pictures of the wedding itself since I was in it. But here is what I took after the wedding was done.

Corrina sent away for a charm for her flowers. It was a picture of Jim on a ribbon. That way she had him with her on her day.

The next day Joe and Corrina came back to the resort with the dogs.

I'm guessing Cookie (the one standing on the table) does not like the dogs to much. I found her up there yelling and Cheryl and Rosemary laughing.

Wedding and Vacation

As some of you know we headed to Colorado on August 5th. We left around 4:00 in the afternoon and made it to Omaha, NE around 1:00 in the morning. We had to drive around to couple hotels before we found an opening. We did this because we didn't plan anything. Not to sure why we did that, but the only place we had reserved to stay was during the wedding and that's because Joe and Corrina had them set aside for family.



The next morning we headed out bright and early to get to CO. We headed into Wyoming and then down to Fort Collins. Once again we had to drive around and find somewhere to stay. But at least it wasn't 1 in the morning this time. We got into the hotel, ate some supper, swam in the pool and went to bed.



Friday we headed up to the canyon for the rehearsal and met up with the family. We stopped once on our way up to let the boys play in the water and give them a break.

We also stopped and watched some kayaks go down the river.

Now I can't post any pictures of the rehearsal or the wedding yet. Corrina wants to see them first before I post them for everyone else. And I really can't blame her.

It was a perfect day and a beautiful wedding.

After the wedding they had a tent set up for everyone to eat and talk. There was also a swing set there and of course Seth was all about it. He finally figured out how to do the swings on his own so he was very proud of himself and asked for his picture to be taken.

This is a picture of the resort that some of stayed in. The wedding was across the road. It was nice to be able to go back and forth to get to the reception and our cabin.

Behind our cabin was a river and the boys loved it back there. So I course followed them back there and took some pictures. I wish Jakob would have stayed in his clothes from the wedding. But his dad told him it was ok to get changed since the wedding was done. At least he stayed in them long enough for family pictures and he isn't just in boxers.

During the reception Jamie, Cory, Cody, Kam, Kyle and Myranda decided they wanted to climb the hill that was next to us. Here is a picture of the hill. Remember this is the foothills of the Rockies.

Once they got back down they had to get all the thorns out of there socks and shoes. Poor Kyle had them in his fingers.
