Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Well I suppose I have had enough time off that I should update the blog. I was actually a little sad to see the boys go off to school this morning. Now what do I do???? Any ways here are some pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I'm going to spread all the Christmas stuff out a little bit, so there will only be half of Christmas Day here this week.

On our way to Pemberton the boys were watching movies. Not sure if the sun was in Seth's eyes or if he just wanted to be alone. But he would flip his blanket over my seat and then over his head and make a tunnel to the TV. Sort of his own little movie theatre.

Once we got to Grandma Shaw's it was time for Oyster Stew and all different kinds of other stuff. I sort of got Shelly's plate in the way but we are suppose to use disposable bowls for the stew. If you look at Jamie's bowl you will see he did not follow this rule. He went into Grandma's cupboards and found a bigger bowl. He thought the other ones were to small.

There's Grandma Shaw in the background with all the presents. I think she is getting ready to hand them all out.

We got her a Visa card and a picture frame that says Memories of Hayward. I put a picture of her and Jamie sitting on the dock from her visit with us. I told her that each time she comes up I would get a new picture for the frame. She thought that was a great idea.

Now on to Christmas Morning. We stayed over at Cheryl's house and had the boys open there presents there. We left a note for Santa at the Hayward house to let him know where we where going to be. Seth put the note on the coffee table in front of the fireplace. That way when he came out of the fireplace the note would be right there.
Here is Seth getting he first look at all the presents. Some of the presents in the background are for Saturday also. Don't think they are all for them.

Jake's first look at the presents.

Stocking gifts.

More stocking gifts.

Santa got the boys Webkins. This is Jake's husky he named it Woofe. They love them sooo much. The whole time they had off we would fight over the computer.

This is Seth's Webkin. It is a lioness and he named it Lion. He is also very attached to his. We had one night that we couldn't find it before bed and this brought on the tears. And he also took it to school today for rest time.

More toys.....
I got Jamie a gift certificate to go fly fishing. I think he was a little surprised by this and didn't really know what to say.
And the boys got him a digital picture frame for his desk at work.
I got a bag of Dill Pickle chips from both Jakob and Seth. Of course Seth and Jake both took the bags over once we got home. Jamie got me a box of microwave popcorn and a new....
ipod touch. This has been so much fun to mess around with. This is another reason me and the boys have been fighting over the computer. I wanted to add new things to the ipod and the boys wanted to play with there webkins.
And of course since the boys got to open there Santa gifts Josh got to open his also.
After we got done with our gifts it was on to my mom's in Hayfield.

Church Program

The last program we had for the holidays was the church program. The title was Stars! Angels! Shepherds! Kings!
First all the kids came out in choir ropes.

This little guy was the camel. He didn't do to much in the program. But he was cute to watch.
Next were the stars. This is all the little kids in Sunday School. They were so cute and happy to be there.

He was the donkey.
Then they came out as Angels and Shepherds.
Jake hiding in the back.
And of course Seth right in the middle and in front. See the girl next to him? During practice he kept trying to put his arm around her. I'm a little worried about him.
Then the real worrying started. See Mary in front? See the baby? That's a real baby. See Seth? See the shepherds hook he is holding? Now imagine that hook spinning around and around in his hands. Back and forth from one hand to the other. All I could think the whole time was "Don't hit the baby, please God don't let him hit the baby!" I'm happy to say the mom finally came up there and took baby Jesus back.
Here is as much of everyone as I could get. It was a great show and for only practicing 4 or 5 times they did pretty good.
Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!!!

Christmas Programs

Tis the season of holiday programs and we started ours on Wednesday night with Jakob. His program was with the 1st and 2nd graders only. I have to apologize for the pictures. The kids all have crazy red eyes. This is due to us being all the way in the back of the gym. So again sorry for the crazy eyes.

The first picture is of Jake trying to find us in the crowd of parents taking pictures.

Still looking......
There he found me. I had to get up close to the stage and wait for all the parents to leave before he found me. You would think he would be use to me with a camera in front of my face and find me right away.
The kids were doing actions with there songs.

Now if you know my son, you know the poor kid gets injured with just about anything he does. The boy next to him was snapping his fingers as one of the actions and got Jake right in the eye. Luckily the teachers were all standing behind the kids and saw Jakob. He took him down, checked him out, and Jakob got back up to sing.
Next was Seth. His program was the J-K and the Kindergarten class.

He found dad right away.

Then me.
All the parents got to go up front again and take pictures. At first he was fine with all of it, then......
He decided he didn't want to be there anymore. And started to do the pouty face, attitude thing. So I had to ignore him half the time so he would keep doing the songs and not look like a lost dog.

After the program we were all invited to go back to our kid's classrooms. They had cookies and juice waiting for us. Now anyone that has met Seth knows he calls like he sees it and doesn't hold anything back. Well when we got back to the classroom one of the other parents was talking to her child. And Seth proceeded to get the ladies attention. Once she turned to look at Seth he told her that her son was always naughty. I have never wanted the floor to open up and swallow me more in my life. I know I have more of this to come with Seth as my son. The lady really didn't say anything. She sort of ignored him and then left. I told the teacher what Seth did and she said good, maybe now the parents will listen. Oh the joys of having my two boys. Never a dull moment.

Christmas Tree

I finally got the Christmas tree up. Poor Jakob had been asking me everyday since Thanksgiving if I would put the tree up. So one of the days that they were in school I dug the tree out of storage. You see I had to wait until they were gone cause that is were their presents are. Shhh don't tell them. Thanks.

Next I got the lights on and some of the odds and ends ornaments that I like to still put on the tree. Then I waited until the boys go home from school.

Here is Seth with his new ornament for the year. It's Thomas the Train hauling a Christmas tree. Each year I try to get them an ornament that goes with something they did or liked in the year. Cheryl was able to find Jakob a soccer player at a craft sale she went to. It has his name and year on it.

Boys adding the new ornament to the tree.

I decided this year that I would have the boys put up all their own ornaments on the tree. I guess this was a mistake on my part. Cause some of the ornaments are glass and our floor is tile. So when they get dropped they don't bounce. I had just gotten done telling Jake that he had to be very, very careful he dropped his first baby ornament. I blued it back together as best I could. But it shattered so much that there is now a hole on one side.

Here is the tree all done.

The boys with the tree.

And last but not least here is my ornament. It's Duck Dodgers and Marvin the Martian. I do have another Marvin ornament, but didn't have a picture of it yet.
