Thanksgiving Day

We started the day early here in the Shaw house. Jamie was up and out the door to the woods by 5:30. He wanted to get a little hunting done before we ate. I think I will title this photo "Where's Waldo"
Can you find Jamie in the picture???? Here let me zoom in on him.

Needless to say he did not get any deer this weekend.

Here are the boys checking out the music on Cody's computer before lunch.

And the older boys watching football.

And Kam still sleeping in the basement.

Poor Taylor. She had to sit there and smell all the yummy food. But at least we let her in the house and not sit outside they whole day.

Here's our little line of food. It went half way around the kitchen! And the sad thing is that we forgot to put some of the stuff out. OK so you have to look at Josh's shirt. It is my favorite shirt of his. Seth gave it to him a few years ago at Christmas. It says "Mom likes me best", it's so perfect for him. Anyone that knows Josh and Cheryl would have to agree with the shirt. It makes me laugh every time.

All the cousins around the table. Someday Josh or Corrina will give us a girl to mix it up. Not to sure what we will do with a little girl on this side of the family. She will be well protected.

Enjoying the meal, football and the fire.

After lunch the guys went outside and shot the bow and arrow. Sounds like it was harder then it looked. Poor Cory ended up with a bruise on his arm from the string hitting him.

And to just throw a random photo in her for ya. Here is a Redheaded Woodpecker that was flying around the house. Isn't he pretty?

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

The Mighty Hunter (Graphic Pictures)

So Saturday was gun opener here in WI. And the boys decided to try there luck. It was Jamie, Josh, Chris Battle, and Ben Stori all running around in the woods next to our house. From what it sounds like Josh got two right away Saturday morning. So they were back in time for some lunch. Here are some pictures of the two deer Josh got. But I warn you again these are some what graphic photos. So if you don't like dead deer don't read anymore.

Josh with his buck.
The boys getting the rope ready to hang the deer. Ben working hard.
Driving the truck out to hang the deer. Again Ben working hard. : )

Josh standing proud with his buck and doe.

They went back out after lunch, but didn't have any luck. Sunday morning still no luck. After lunch they went out again and right away Josh shot two more. So they spent the rest of the day cleaning and hanging the next two. Poor Jamie, Chris and Ben didn't get anything this weekend. But it sounds like Ben and his dad Dennis are going to come back next year. Chris is here for another day. And Jamie is going to go out Wednesday and then Josh will join him on Friday. Here are pictures of the last two deer.

Also before I go....Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Senior Pictures

When I was home a few weekends ago I did some senior pictures for my nephew. I had the help of my assistant Brenda, who helped me get some better lighting in the basement and ideas out at the park. I called her my assistant cause she was holding a big lamp over my shoulder to get better lighting on Kam, helped tape stuff to the wall, helped but stuff on a ladder with me, and also carried my camera bag around outside.

So we took some pictures down in the basement of Cory and Kathy to try and get some formal pictures. I wasn't all that happy with them. I just don't have the flash or backgrounds to do stuff like that. Then we went to Mineral Springs and got some really good pictures there. Poor Kathy came with and ended up carrying all of Kam's clothes and shoes around the park. And finally we went down to Brenda's Grandma-in-laws house to get some pictures on the railroad track and a creek in the backyard.

It was so much fun to do the pictures and I hope they find some that they can use for the yearbook and to give out to family and friends. Here are some of them that I want to share with you. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hope I didn't overload you with pictures. : )

Birthday Party

The boys and I headed to Austin yesterday for my nephew Mason's birthday party. He is now 6 years old and it was a John Deere theme. We got there about an hour early so the boys could hang out and burn off steam before the others got there.

I got Mason the Tony Hawk skater ramp and some finger skateboards.

My naughty gift to Mason was White Cheedar Cheez-it's. The boy loves them.

As I said before his theme was John Deere. And Bev got his cake done as a cupcake cake. Which I think is the best thing ever. It's easy to pass out and you don't have to worry about cutting and all that junk. But the thing was that the frosting on most of the cupcakes was green. This is what happens when you eat green cupcakes.......

You get the frosting every where and every thing turns green. : ) It was so cute to watch them eat.

Deer and Halloween

So earlier last week Jamie had a little run in with a deer on his way home. He was driving one of the back roads to our house and a buck came out of the woods and ran right into the car. He said all he saw was 6 points coming right at him. The buck slammed into the driver side and then ran away. Jamie and a guy that stopped went into the woods to look for it but never found it. I took the car in the next day for estimates and found out it will cost around $2,000 to get fixed. Thank goodness for insurance. Here are some pictures for you.

There's fur in the wheel.

And on Halloween the boys went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Which is only 3 people. : ) They got carmel apples, candy and cracker jacks. Then went into town for them to go to there uncle Josh's house. Who gave Seth a whole bag of Kit Kats and Jake got a bucket of gum.
